What you'll do:

As a Niagara Developer III, under supervision from Senior members, is responsible for programming, assisting in commissioning, and troubleshooting Building Control and Facility Management Systems per plans and specifications. Provides detailed information to communicate design to Engineering teams, field installation team and subcontractors. Serves as the technical resource for installation team. You will also be responsible for working directly with the Field Support Technicians, installers and performing assistive programming, documenting, training and maintaining systems involving networks, system integration, open technologies, software based interfaces, HVAC controls, and other facility/infrastructure management systems. Experience with systems that involve advanced solutions such as Tridium, Echelon products, BACnet, Lonmark, Modbus and other open technologies for building automation/integration solutions is necessary. You will be expected to be able to work with programs, graphical user interfaces, commission building automation systems, and support a wide range of software, and subsystems from simple to complex in nature which includes sub-metering.

  • Accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs: participates in engineering release meeting with project field team.
  • Responsible for total system operation.
  • Troubleshoots system problems, works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
  • Performs static (standalone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) software programming independently.
  • Configures work stations and all required software.
  • Reviews site systems and, if needed, points out other areas of improvement and keeps teams apprised of customer concerns and issues.
  • Works with Field Support Technicians to complete all required commissioning documentation and helps provides accurate information for as‐built documentation.
  • Performs site specific training to teams on the total system and assists with turnover to the NOC.
  • Communicates effectively with the general or mechanical contractor, consultants, architect engineers and other sub‐contractors as required.
  • Conducts self‐study (reading, research and practice) to improve technical proficiency (software / hardware) in company's product lines.
  • Ability to communicate technical material to a non‐technical audience.
  • Previous experience with computer aided design; strong PC skills required.

  • Providing assistive programming, commissioning and implementing BAS and other building equipment and automation systems which are primarily associated with HVAC and Lighting systems in commercial buildings.
  • This position requires a high level of detailed and effective communication along with the ability to execute multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
  • Utilize engineered solutions provided by Central Engineering.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio or other Microsoft software
  • Background in building science/control systems required
  • HVAC Industry or construction industry experience preferred
  • Niagara AX License or Certification is a big plus or 2+ years of related Niagara experience
